How To Flatten That Tummy....

Damn! I've been trying all types of methods to reduce the beer belly that I have so successfully gained in the the past 4 years. I have been such a huge lover of beers that I never bothered about the consequences of this indulgence. However, I have realised that I need to lose that beer belly before my BIG day. So, I have decided to do the following:-

(1) Tuesdays - Futsal (1 hour)
(2) Wednesday - Futsal (2 hours)
(3) Thursday - Badminton / Tennis (2 hours)

Besides all the above that I am doing, I am also spending 30 minutes a day walking the boys - Caesar & Vasco. I have cut my carb intake and increased my protein intake. I have reduced my intake of excessive sugar (cakes, ice-creams, sweets) as well. I started this routine, some 2 weeks ago and I am already seeing results. I believe, if one puts his/her heart and mind to something, he/she can surely achieve it. It has been tough, but I am very determined to lose that belly before I go to my tailor and get my tux sewed. Well, if you want to look good, you have to sacrifice for a while. In fact, I have somehow got used to it that I do not crave for it anymore. I hope to continue this diet plan and the exercise routine I am currently doing.

I found the article below on the tips of losing that 'Bulging Stomach'. So here goes - for those who want to lose that extra inches of your waist, check this out:-

Walk/jog for 30 minutes at least 3 times per week to boost your metabolism in order to burn that fat.

Pick a sport [futsal, badminton, tennis or all three ;)] and spend at least 2 hours a week playing the sport.

Eat a small handful of almonds (at least 6) every morning. Almonds are one of the healthiest snacks you can eat and the protein is good for burning fat. - I didn't know this, will buy some almonds on my way back tonight.

Add fiber to your diet and cut down your intake of the bad carbs. Foods such as white bread, pastas, potatoes, and white rice should be limited. Eat brown rice and whole wheat bread instead. To get that needed fibre increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables (especially the leafy green ones).

Drink skim milk instead of whole milk. Keep your dairy intake at a minimum because these products often cause bloating and gas.

Perform proper crunches at least 3 times a week to train your abs. Avoid sit-ups because they really do very little to firm your stomach. Sit-ups work your hip flexors more than anything else.

Drink plenty of water. You should be drinking 6 to 8 glasses per day. Not only will it help fill you up so you eat less, but it aids in digestion.

Stop eating within 3 hours of bedtime. If you have to munch on something, eat a small portion of vegetables or fruit. Not eating late can make a huge difference.

Eat smaller meals more often instead of 2-3 big meals per day to keep from having that bloated look and feeling. Eating more meals actually kicks up your metabolism.

Take a break from healthy eating once and a while and treat yourself to your favorite dessert. If you completely deprive yourself of the foods you love you'll run the risk of going back to your bad eating habits. Moderation is the key.
